What saturn stores when you use saturn, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.

What we hold

Your project. The files you upload or the repository you point us at, plus what we work out about them: what kind of app it is, what it needs to run.

Your account. The email address you sign in with, handled by our authentication provider. We never see your password.

Settings your app needs. Values you paste, such as API keys and service addresses, are stored so your app can use them while it runs. The app never shows them back to you once saved.

If you joined the waiting list. Your email address, the names or domain you asked for, which form you used, the time, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address, which lets us stop one person signing up many times.

Who else is involved

Signing in is handled by our authentication provider, which sets the cookies that keep you signed in. Payments go through a payment provider on its own hosted checkout, so your card details go to them, never to us. A domain you buy is registered through a domain registrar, which the rules of the domain system require to hold contact details for the registrant.

Counting visits

We count visits to this site ourselves, on our own server, so we know which pages people read. No other company is involved, and there are no cookies for visitors. For each visit we keep the page, the site that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, your country, your device type and browser, and a visitor code. Your country is looked up from your network address, and then the address is dropped.

The visitor code is made from your network address and the line your browser sends to describe itself, mixed with a secret that changes every day and is deleted after two days. That lets us count a visit once a day, but never trace it to you or link one day to the next. These counts are kept for 400 days.

To tell a person from an automated script, each page sends our server one small signal carrying only the page and the site that sent you. Like any web server, ours also keeps a technical log of requests, network address and browser line included, for 14 days, then deletes it.

There are no advertising trackers. We set no cookies for visitors; the only cookies you can get are the ones that keep you signed in. Nothing here follows you to other websites.

How long we keep it

A project you keep is stored until you delete it. A project dropped without an account is held only for the window shown on screen when you drop it, and is removed if nobody claims it. Deleting a project removes its files and stops it being served.

An entry on the waiting list is kept until you ask us to remove it at support@saturnship.com. Nothing removes it automatically.

Your say over it

You can see what we hold in the app, correct your account details with your sign-in provider, and delete any project, or your whole account, whenever you like. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to a copy of your data, or to object to how it is used.

To ask for any of that, write to support@saturnship.com.
